desde o seu início que sigo o projecto The Incredible Moses Leroy, de Ron Fountenberry. sempre lhe admirei o brilho dos arranjos e a voz.
lançou as despedidas no último “… become the soft.lightes” de 2003, um disco que anunciava (sem que eu – confesso – me tivesse apercebido) a transição para um novo projecto, o que se revelou pouco mais que uma alteração de nome.
os The SoftLights são um quarteto composto pelo próprio Ron Fountenberry e pelos membros que antes o acampanhavam nas gravações do alter-ego Incredible Moses Leroy; por outras palavras, o génio criativo de Ron apenas se deixou diluir no formato “banda”.
isto porque “Say No! to Being Cool. Say Yes to Being Happy” é absolutamente contínuo em relação aos discos anteriores do velho projecto. lançado no passado mês de Fevereiro, o primeiro disco dos The SoftLightes permanece complexo (e brilhante, nalguns momentos) nos arranjos, melódico e luminoso.
puro deleite POP, fora do estafado formato “easy listening”. obrigatório.
